We have the most modern training facilities available in the Ohio Valley. Our computer (including our new TOC Lab) and technical area labs are second to none; and our instructors are certified professionals capable of conducting the training programs your company needs. We can also provide space for you to conduct your own meetings, seminars, and training for a nominal fee. Adult Education Programs (Evening Courses)
The John D. Rockefeller IV Career Center, located in New Cumberland, WV, will be offering Evening Classes for the following classes:
Seasonal Craft Class Time: 6:00 – 8:00 pm Thursdays
Cost – $100.00 for all 4 classes Dates: Sept. 28, Oct. 26, Nov. 16 & Dec. 14, 2017
Instructor: Elissa Greathouse Fall Seasonal Craft Class. The firs class will be a seasonal wreath followed by various other seasonal crafts.
Auto Technology Class Time: 5:00 – 7:00 pm Tuesdays & Thursdays

Jeff Hardy will be teaching a 40 hour Automotive Technology Class. This class will be 2 hours in length and held on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Students will receive hands on instruction along with classroom theory in Brakes, Engine Repair & Alignments. Students will be eligible to take the Student ASE tests and will be prepared to pass the WV State Inspectors Exam upon completion.
Beyond Basic Photography Time: 6:00 – 8:30 pm Thursdays
Cost – $50.00 for all 4 Classes Dates: Oct. 26, Nov. 2, Nov.9 & Nov. 16, 2017
Instructor: Audrey Shaw This 4 session course is geared to those photographers who have a general understanding of their camera but desire to have more confidence in the use of various camera settings while gaining better control over their photography. Topics include the review of general and specific camera adjustments, learning the next step in creative control of specific types of photography and how to enhance the appeal of your work by learning the creative control of specific types of photography and how to enhance the appeal of your work by learning the basic rules of composition.
CNA CLASS Time: 3:00 – 8:00 PM Mon-Thurs Class/Clinical
Cost – $700.00 Dates: Begins January 8, 2018
Instructors: Joan Murray, Wendy DeAngelis, Kathy Dray and Ashley Witherow Get a great intro to the Health Care Industry and springboard to the next level in the Health Care field. Make this your first steps to that PN/RN degree. A 120 hour program to obtain your Certified Nursing Assistant Certificate. Employable in nursing homes, hospitals, and doctor offices. Students will be prepared in both theory and skills to take Certification Exams after the classes and clinical.
ASME Pipe Welding Class Time: 3:00 – 7:00 pm Tuesdays and Thursdays
Cost – $1,200.00 Dates: Begins January 9, 2018 $1,000,00 (former JDR students)
Instructor: Jim Chappell Get into the area’s fastest growing field. Welding! Must have open root welding experience. This is an 80 hour course. Uphill and Downhill Welding. Students will practice and test out on 6″ schedule 80 pipe.
Adult CDL Class Time: 7:30 am – 2:30 pm M-F Cost – CDL $3,500 BUS $500 Classes start every 12 weeks. Evening & Week End Classes are available upon request.
Instructors: Tim Egyud and John Barber The CDL Class is a 12 week comprehensive training program in the career field of Commercial Truck Driving. Emphasis is placed on development of the basic skills and knowledge needed to drive a tractor-trailer and/or bus safely, efficiently and legally. Please contact the instructors a (304) 564-9009.

A Valid WV photo ID is required when taking the official practice test.Applicants younger than 18 years of age are required to obtain a “Withdrawal Form” from the high school they attended. This form must list the official date of withdrawal from that high school. Students younger than 18 years of age must have been withdrawn from high school for at least 30 days. If you are 18 years of age or younger, please contact the Career Center for additional requirements (304) 564-3337, Extension 320.

Classes and tests will resume again in September, no tests or classes are offered during the summer.

Check your local television or radio station for school cancellation information. Also, class size is limited to 10 students in each course, so please register early. The Career Center reserves the right to cancel a course when the registration is not sufficient to warrant its continuance, divide a class if enrollment is too large for efficient instruction, change the time of a course and/or change instructors when necessary. Adult Full time Programs
CDL Training Classes
Truck driving/CDL training is a 12 week course designed to get students a CDL driving endorsement on their driving licenses. This program will open students to the world of truck driving and any other vehicle requiring a CDL endorsement. All students must pass a DOT-physical, drug screening and background check prior to starting the program. Call the school and ask for John or Tim in Truck Driving and they can answer any questions. Evening and Week End Classes are available upon request by calling the instructors at (304) 564-9009.
Practical Nursing is a one year program running from August through June giving students a complete field of study in the Nursing area. These students complete classroom and clinical training at various locations. Students can go on to earn their RN through an agreement with WVNCC and Kent State if they choose. All students must have a high school diploma or equivalent prior to starting the program. Call the school and ask for Kathy Dray for any questions.
